All of us are saddened by the tragic and brutal events of yesterday. In times such as these, we seek both to comfort and to understand. As an entire community we hope and pray that all who mourn today are comforted—embraced by their families and friends, and supported by the entire city. We also hope and pray—and commit ourselves to work for—a compassionate, a more just, and safer city. We give thanks to all the First Responders and citizens who reacted so courageously.
This Sunday we are looking forward to singing songs from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” But we will also stop to reflect on the events of this past week, both in prayer and through the meditation. Please join us as we lift up both our joy and our grief as true reflections of who we are. I hope that you will join us.
Shalom
