Everyone knows the story of Charles Dickens' story, A Christmas Carol. Ebeneezer Scrooge is a misery old rich man who is visited by three ghosts in the hopes of melting his hardened heart, to kindle the Christmas spirit. What is less obvious is the Biblical subtext in the book, where Dickens broaches another, deeper dimension of transformation.
